Potty Pictures

I really fought with whether or not it was 'ok' to post 'potty pictures' of my daughter on the internet - although I am the sort of person who really doesn't worry much about privacy, there's always a chance my children will. Oh well.  They have me for a mother.

This week's 'Tag Along Tuesday' with Growing Up Geeky requested favourite photos - that WE have taken. Not a professional, but in this case, a photo taken by myself.  This was difficult because so many of the best photos of Celia were taken either by my husband or a professional - and I'm really not that great a photographer.

These photos are my favourite, because I think they are absolutely adorable... starting with the best picture...

These next two I included because although they aren't as good as 'photographs', they are really funny...

She's laughing to herself.

And in this one she looks so engrossed.  I love it.  I' gave her the book because although she easily poops on the potty, she has a little trouble with staying on the potty during the process... and I don't really enjoy cleaning it off the floor, so I was trying to keep her entertained without needing to move.

So, there it is.  I posted potty pics of Celia on the internet.  I hope she doesn't hate me for it.

The Day I Learned My Daughter Could 'Paint'

I have one of those 'Buddha Boards' - for those of you who are unfamiliar with these, they are a lightly colored sort of 'slate' on a tray that you fill with water.  There is a brush that you use to brush the water onto the slate, and where the water touches, it turns black.  Kind of like a Zen Garden, it's one of those things intended to be 'fiddled' with to keep you occupied.  My piano students often play with it when they're waiting for their lessons...

Anyway, one day I look over and see Celia concentrating intently on the board.

And I don't know if this is normal 11 month old behavior or not, but she knew how to do it! She dipped the brush in the tray of water, and then painted with it.

I was quite impressed.

I Do Not Like Them, Sam I Am...

We had leftover ham one day, and decided to make ham and eggs for breakfast.

And I could not, would not, make them without dying the eggs green.

Yup... Green Eggs and Ham...

And then I got what was probably the most joyful picture I have ever seen of my daughter...

I Do! I Like Them, Sam I Am!

Back to the First Snowfall...

It's been awhile since I've blogged, so I've missed a few things... I'm still waiting for my husband to update this site, which is partly my reluctance to add anything until that happens.

Anyway, here are a few pictures of my Celia from the last couple of months.  It snowed later than usual this year - November 7th, and even then we didn't have snow 'to stay' until a few weeks later.  I took Celia out in her sled that first day though, and despite the cold air, she seemed to love it!

This fuzzy picture I got from my cell phone while we were walking...

Destructive Little One...

Celia seems to think building blocks are for knocking over, not for building.

I was sitting on the floor playing with her today, building towers out of the Chinese wooden blocks she has. These are like those wooden alphabet blocks that everyone use to have - except that instead of having the English alphabet, they have Chinese characters on them.  Anyway, I was building towers but before I could stack them more than more than about five high, she would knock them all down and laugh hysterically.  It really was quite funny.

Brian probably taught her this...

Babyproofing is a real thing that should be done - even by extremely unorganized people like myself.

Proud moment today when my 10 month old daughter picked up a toothbrush and started scrubbing her teeth... where did she find the toothbrush? In the corner of the bathroom where I keep a small tub of cleaning supplies... WHAT??? BAD MOMMY!!!

Yuck, yuck, yuck...

Not that this really makes it any better, but that particular toothbrush was used to scrub the goobers off of her toys.  At least it hadn't been used on the toilet. Ew.  Anyway, I guess I will learn how to babyproof one tiny step at a time...
